Heck-ted Weekend Blog #9

This past weekend was a great weekend I must say. On Friday I went to my cousin and friend’s cheer practice at Pierce College. After that we had a movie night at my house and had pizza and ice cream. That was a really great way to start my weekend.

On Saturday I was with my little cousin’s at the Moorpark College Zoo. Later on at night I got to spend some time with friends I hadn’t spend time with in a long time. To top it off it was the weekend of Halloween. How exciting-----On Saturday night my friend Jonessa had a Halloween party up in Porto Ranch. My cousin Sandy, her boyfriend and a couple of our friends decided to go for a while. Since one of our other close friend, Kaitylnn was having a Halloween party as well. It was pretty chill at Jonessa’s. It was pretty much a kick back. A lot of people drinking, having a great time and what not. So we didn’t stick around for a very long time. At my friend Kaitylnn’s house it was more of a family party. That’s were my Saturday night ended. It was so much fun. They had all kinds of great games. Like the bucket apple game, the chair game and we even danced to the song Thriller by Michael Jackson. It was so funny seeing my friend Kaitylnn parents and grandparents dancing with us. My night ended on a great note.

On Sunday my two sisters Erica (16 years old) and Valerie (13 years old) went over to my cousin Sandy’s house. Our parents had gone to San Diego for a wedding and we didn’t want to stay home alone. We decided to have a girl’s movie night. But for some reason when my cousin and I hang out we never stay alone. Some of our friends came over later on at night and we went to this view up in the Little Tujunga Canyon Rd. It’s near Sunland. We didn’t stick around for a long time, it was 10 minutes before Halloween and we ended up in gravity hills. Gravity hill is next to the Jewish cemetery and supposedly at night the “KKK” people come out. I had been to gravity hills so many times, and never had I seen them. This change that night, we were on our way out of the cemetery when I seen a truck stop. My heart dropped, and there was about five people coming out the truck dressed in white. I didn’t think much of it, until I seen two people put a white pointy hat over their heads. We all got very scared and left.  Never again will I dare to go back.

Monday night came, it was Halloween already and I went out to West Hollywood with some friends and my cousins.  It was pretty fun. We went to two clubs and had a great time. This weekend has been the busiest weekend by far.

Moorpark College "Boo At The Zoo" Blog #8

What a beautiful sunny saturday afternoon on October 29th, 2011. My cousin Sandy and I decided to take our little cousin's Jenny and Mikey to the Moorpark College Zoo. They don't have a whole lot of animals to see. It's pretty much a Mini Zoo, but you do get to learn a lot about each animal which makes the experience so much memorable. They had so much fun seeing all the animals and learning different things about each animal. We arrived at 2:00p.m and started our day by looking at all the animals they had.

We saw an American Alligator (Alligator Mississippiensis), the America Alligator is from the spanish, which means "the lizard." Did you know that a male America Alligator typically grows to be between 13 to 15 feet long. While the female usually grows up to about 10 feet long. That's so crazy; isn't that!!!! I never knew that until today. The reason why I shared this information about the American Alligator was because. It was the one of the animals that caught my attention. We got to see so many wonderful animals. We saw a lamb, Bobcat, Mountain Lion, Female Lion, Monkeys, Spur-Winged Plover, A well trained Dog, Lizards, A 500 pound tortoise & last but not least... My favorite type of bird. A Burrowing Owl. I think that was my favorite part about visiting the Moorpark zoo.

My heart literally dropped when I saw the burrowing owl. In high school I did a project in my graphic computer design class, about that partially owl. It felt so good, being able to share some few things about the burrowing owl to my cousin Sandy, Jenny and Mikey. I even shared it with the people taking care of the burrowing owl. The information I shared about the Burrowing owl was, that in the mid-east people use the Burrowing Owl as a target "practice" shooting. The Burrowing Owl is so kind, that when it sees humans it does not flee nor tries to hide away. Which that makes it an easy target for practice shooting. So harmful to this poor innocent owl. I was so glad I got to see the Burrowing Owl in person. :D (I'm still super HAPPY).

After learning many things about each animal we took a brake, and had lunch. We got to see a show on The Lamb, Turtle from South America, Trained dog named Ciara & the smallest monkey in South America. It was so nice how the people from the show made all the kids say (trick-or-treat) and put their finger on their nose while saying it. That was so the next animal could come out. After seeing the show, we got to see the lions & bobcat get feed by their trainer. It was nice seeing them, because they would have them doing tricks in order for them to get feed.

My little cousins Jenny and Mikey had such a great time. They got to learned about the few animals Moorpark College Zoo had. They also got to play games and win Halloween prizes. The Zoo had staff members painting kids faces. My little cousins decided they both wanted to get something. My little cousin Jenny(5 Years Old) got a pink and purple butterfly drawn on her face. Mikey(6 Years Old) on the other hand, decided to go with the bad boy look. Lol, He got a web tattoo on his arm with a spider on it. It was a wonderful afternoon spending it with my cousins. Especially because it was an outdoor activity, and i love the outdoors.

Blog #6 My Main Friends (P.M’s)

Thania, Jose, Selina & I. Founders of our group<3

January 16, 2010 is when it all started. Jose, Thania, Selina and I started a group called (P.M’s,) which stands for pretty monsters. This group would be a group of just close friends only. So it started with eight of us. Later on through the year five close friends of ours got into our little group, which made 13 special people. Before making this group of close friends we were already very close to on another. We just wanted to make something special, that later on in the future we would all look back to it. My main friends are more than just friends. They are my family. I am so blessed with wonderful individuals. Each one of them plays a special role in our group. From being the responsible one, to the crazy one, the loudest, the quite one, to the one that is always organizing events for all of us to get together. The special thing about my friends is that no matter what the situation is we always try to be there for on another. We always figure a way out of a bad situation to a good situation.

Jose, Jasmine, Teffany, Marielle, Selina, I, Christine and Nancy.

The special thing about our group is that everyone has their own personalities, which makes our group fun.
  • Jose, is the one that is always making the group get loud and crazy. Without him the group isn’t the same. He’s carefree, doesn’t care what people thing of him and he’s just very very loud.
  • Thania, she’s the sweetest. Very down to earth girl. People see her as the calm one. But there’s a twice in her, that no one really knows unless your very close to her.
  • Selina, is calm as well. Might seem quite at times, but when it comes to being around our close friends the true side of her comes out. We like to say the “black girl” comes out. (: But only when were having a good time.
  • Sandy, is the loudest. She loves to make the group laugh when there is something going wrong. You can never go wrong with her.
  • Jasmine, she’s the responsible one from the group. She is always the one that actually thinks before we decide to do something.
  • Stephanie, is the quite on from our group. She likes to give advice, but doesn’t like to ask for any. She’s like the mother of our group.
  • Teffany, is the littlest one from the group. But the feistiest one, if someone does anything to one of our group members. You’re defiantly on her bad side. She likes to look over us.
  • Christine, is very outgoing. No better words to describe her.
  • Marielle, is the smart one from our group. But takes everything very slow. Which makes her funny at times.
  • Nancy, is the one that doesn’t really care about anything. She just likes to go with the flow.
  • Dina, has a huge heart. She's always thinking of others before her self, which makes her very special.
  • Drahnier, is the perfect one from our group. He is the one that worries about EVERYTHING. He’s just very perfectionist.
One does not belong in this picture & missing two friend to complete the special 13.

Blog#4----- 5 Things like/love.

I didn't have a clue on what to write my blog this week. So I choose my favorite number "5." So I decided to write about five things that I like/love.

My parents.
1. Family--- My Parents

Every single person has capabilities, abilities and gifts. In this story, my family has the capability to make me happy, the ability to make me do better and bigger things and sure are the gifts to my life. Family is something I definitely consider before anyone. I’m very close to all of my family. I I’m very blessed to have the family I do, and I’m very proud of that. My parents have been together for 19 years already. They were each others sweetheart in high school, and grew their love to a bigger extent. I sure do look up to both of them. My parent’s aren’t like most parents. I consider them more than parents---they are my best friends.

My main friends. Missing one to complete the 13 of us.

2. Friends--- That turn into family

I’m not the type of person to have a big group of friends that I can consider all of them very close to me. But all of it changed my junior year in high school. I grew a special bond with 13 special people, eleven girls and two guys. Each and one of them have a special place in my heart. I never thought I can share the deepest secrets with all of my friends. But these are my friends that turn into family in my life. I’m very bless to have a big group of friends, that I can count on.

With my little cousin, during our hike.

3. Going out--- Hiking

I love going out. Whether it’s going for a walk, watching movies or shopping. Something I love the most is, hiking. I love to take long walks. Two years ago on Valentines Day my family and I decided to spend our morning hiking on a mountain full of snow. How exciting was that for me. I don’t recall the name of the place, but it was such a beautiful place. I enjoy the out doors very much. If it has to do with walking and exploring new routes, I’m so in it.
Having dinner at Claim Jumper. One of my favorite restaurants.

4. Food---

When it comes to food I’m a very picky eater. I don’t eat meat AT ALL!!!! Never did, never will. Ever since I was little I’ve dislike it. I’m somewhat of a veggie person. I say that because I do eat chicken. But I can’t eat the chicken if it’s on the bond.  How weird is that, Right? I really don’t like eating in fast food restaurants. I rather choose restaurants before going into any fast food restaurants.

My favorite summer Cathy Jean sandals.

5. Shoes--- Heels & Boats.

Shoes Shoes Shoes!!!!! I love shoes. But when I say shoes, I don’t mean regular shoes. In fact, you will never see me wearing regular shoes, only if I’m going running or hiking. I’m more into boats, sandals, flats, and heels. I love wearing heels the most. If it was for me, I would wear heels everyday. I own over 30 pairs of heels, 6 boats, 13 sandals and 4 running shoes. I know by the end of the year, I will be needing a much bigger space to put all of my shoe collection.

Blog #4 Inspiration and a proud sister I am.

My sister Erica is fifteen years old. Her birthday is December 2, 1998. As you can tell I’m the oldest one, and she’s the middle child. I grew up with a younger sister and it took me a while to realize how special she was. At first I saw her as an annoyance, inconvenience, and a rival for attention. I often wished and prayed she would leave, but as the years grew, I gradually came to accept the fact that she wasn't going anywhere. Over the years our relationship grew and changed and gradually we reached a point of friendship. More than friendship I would say. It’s more like a special best friend bond.  I choose my sister as my topic for this weekend because, she inspirers me to do my best. Although she may be younger than be, she plays a huge role in my life. She wasn’t always close to me. When we were little I remember fighting a lot with her, over the silliest things.

The reason why I say she inspires me so much is because the way she is with others. She is so sensitive and is always trying to find a way to help people out. Erica is such a smart girl too. Ever since she was in elementary she never liked missing school, even though she would be sick in bed. She will still get up and do her best. She graduated elementary with high honors and perfect attendance. She also got a special award from the president for having good grades and prefect attendance. The elementary she attended was Montague Charter Academy. The same elementary my parents and I attended.

Going into Triumph Charter middle school, I couldn’t be happier for her. She still proceed on having great grades and surely enough. Graduated from middle school with honors again. She even got the chance to go with a few friends from her middle school to Washington, Boston and New York as their 8th grade last trip. Her graduation was taken place in CSUN. I remember crying so much that day, because I was seeing my little sister turn into a young lady. Now she was going to enter high school. I was kind of scared for her. Since she wasn’t going to attend a public school like me. I didn’t know how it was going to be for her, being at a community charter.  But I was so proud of her achievements and hard work.

She entered CCECHS, it stands for (Community Charter Early College High School). Erica is still doing a great job. She has played every sport a girl can possibly play. She just entered the 10th grade and is currently in cheer and dance. She is doing an awesome job at it. I know she will get into the best university because she has never gotten a “F”, “D’s” and “C’s” as a grade. She has always been an “A” and “B” student, and I’m so sure, she will make me a happier sister by the end of her high school career.  I’m one proud sister. :)

Movie Night-------Turn Into An Aventura Blog! (:

This past week was so crazy. On Thursday my cousin invited me to her house for a girls movie nigh. We had pizza and chips. It was a good time. Most of all of our girl friends couldn’t make it. But we still had a great time. The only ones that made it was my friend Jasmine, Alma, Yvette, Wendy and my Cousin Sandy’s boyfriend Manny. We watched the movie “Switched”. It was a great movie. After the movie night was over we all, were catching up and having a great time. In a couple of hours it was going to be my cousin’s boyfriend “18” birthday. I remember telling him to stay so we can sing “Happy Birthday”, but he couldn’t stay since he had to take Jasmine home and he also had work the next morning.

As he was leaving he told my cousin, “I thought you were going to do me a surprise dinner or something, since the girls were over.” We all laughed at him. My cousin felt bad, but told him, “Babe this was a movie night just for the girls and I, so we can catch up on things. You’re lucky you were invited.” Poor Manny actually thought we had something plan out for him. Everyone left my cousin house and, I decided to sleep over. We were in her room talking and she told me, “dude I feel bad because Manny thought I was having something for him.” We should take him a cake to his house at 12:00 or something cute. I wasn’t in the mood. But I told my cousin, how about we just go and decorate his car how you did it last year.  She didn’t want to do the same thing. But I told her it should be a tradition every year on his birthday. That’s something cute and creative.

So 12:00 came, and we were on Skype singing “happy birthday” to him. After we were done he said, “I have to go to sleep, I have work early in the morning.” So we said bye and started our plan for his decorations of his cars. Our friend Yvette picked my cousin and me and, took us to Walgreens. It was 12:30 and we were buying the things to decorate his car. We got to his house around 1 in the morning. We were so scared of getting caught by him. Since we were going to make a lot of noise, decorating the car with the string spry. We started to decorate his car with streamers. I even cut out an “18 number” out of a poster, and put balloons all over his car. At one point we got scared, because a cop car past by, while we were decorating his car. But he saw we were writing “Happy Birthday” so didn’t stop to check up on us. Our hearts had drop for a second. After the cop had kept driving we continued with the decorations. We were finally finished. We took a lot of picture of our crazy night. This movie night had turn into an adventure. We ended our night at jack in the box, treating ourselves with mid-night sacks. After a job well done.

Before our adventure began (: With our zebra tape. We try looking for black tape, or some sorta of black maker. Because we wanted to look like we were on a mission. Ha!

Writing Happy Birthday(:

This is something silly, I decided to write(:

 My cousin Sandy (:

1:30 in the morning, doing arts and crafts. I told my cousin, "Only would I be cutting out of a poster in the middle of the night."

Hope you enjoyed my movie night. That turned into an adventure. (:

Grad-night at Disneyland Blog! (:

All-nighters at Disneyland sounds like a dream come true, right?  It’s called “grad-night” and it has been an icon of both the park-and California for many years. It’s a symbol that high school seniors have made it and deserves a party of their own, entire one their parents can sanction, and one in which they can participate with abandon. I got the chance to go and spend an entire night at Disneyland with my friends. This is one of the activities all seniors are look forward to at the end of their senior year.

The day before grad-night I was in the hospital due to high fevers and I tend to get sick a lot from my tonsils. So that didn’t help my situation at all. The doctor had told my mom that I wasn’t going to be allowed to attend grad-night because that would affect my heath and I would be back in hospital. He had also said, “I had to take a week off school.” That was crazy talk, I thought to myself since I was graduating the following Friday. All I could do was pray I would get better for grad-night. Especially since it was something I had work so hard for and it was also one in a life time thing for Disneyland to have a night just for teenagers. I couldn’t let this pass me by. I hadn’t been absent my senior year. So I decided to take off the day of grad-night to rest, just so I could be good for the night.

As the time came close to grad-night I was still feeling sick, but I made sure I was wearing warm clothes. I took my medication and I got a bit better. With the motivation of getting ready with my best friend Selina helped me a lot. It was a good time. On our way to Disneyland my friends and I were so anxious to get there. We all decided to take a little nap just so we can be wide awake for the rest of the night ahead of us. We had arrived to the theme park at 10:00 but due to so many buses students were forced to wait in lines and on the buses for more than an hour. The system in place at the park involves a Disneyland Cast Member boarding each bus and providing students with a wristband. So we didn’t get into the park till 11:30.

I remember seeing so many buses and schools from all over the valley. Some school even came from out of state. Overall Grad-night was just how I had imagined it would be. I got to experience a night with all my friends I would never forgot of. Despite the fact I was sick, I turn my night upside down and made the best of it. I wasn’t going to let anything come in the way of my hard achievements. Grad-night will always be one of the best highlights of my senior year activities.
